In Memory of Navid Zanjani

WHEREAS, the Asian American Democrats of Texas (AADT) and the Texas Democratic Party (TDP) mourns the passing of Navid Zanjani, a devoted Houstonian whose life exemplified service, leadership, and commitment to community; and

WHEREAS, Navid combined intellect, integrity, and cultural pride to mentor younger members of Houston’s Persian and Asian American communities, build bridges through entrepreneurship, and model civic engagement and public service; and

WHEREAS, Navid distinguished himself in Democratic politics throughout his career, serving in key roles including staffer for President Barack Obama, with the Democratic National Committee, Executive Director of the Harris County Democratic Party, Political Strategist for Mayor Sylvester Turner, Political Director for Congresswoman Lizzie Fletcher, national organizing staff for the Biden-Harris campaign, Regional Political Director for Beto O’Rourke, and numerous leadership roles on local, state, and national organizations; and

WHEREAS, Navid’s expertise in data, development, campaign strategy, and leadership empowered and amplified underrepresented voices, strengthened Democratic infrastructure, and inspired a generation of leaders across Texas; and

WHEREAS, AADT posthumously established the inaugural Navid Zanjani Community Impact Award to honor his life, leadership, and tireless commitment to building Asian American political power in Texas.

THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Asian American Democrats of Texas (AADT) and the Texas Democratic Party (TDP) honors the life and legacy of Navid Zanjani, extends its deepest condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues, and affirms the enduring impact of his service on our community, our party, and our state.
